About the Artist - Anna Claire

I'm a Louisiana artist and psychiatric nurse, and for most of my career I have sat with people in their hardest moments- crisis, trauma, profound transition. Over the years I learned something that no textbook taught me: that nature holds a wisdom that predates every doctrine, every prescription, every system we've built to explain what it means to be human.

The bayou taught me that first. The murky water, the cypress trees, the creatures that survive in conditions that would undue lesser things. I grew up watching the heron stand at the water's edge- unbothered, unhurried, completely certain of its place-and I understood something about patience and power that I've never forgotten.

I paint the Louisiana landscape and its wildlife as a lens for understanding resilience, stillness, boundaries, and healing. Each piece carries a quiet lesson. The heron. The magnolia. The alligator. The pelican. There is an ancient wisdom within all of them; I am just hoping to translate it.

Original prints and commissions available. Workshops coming soon.
